The test system MTS can be understood as a servo-hydraulic high-frequency Fatigue testing with a maximum feasible test frequency of 1 kHz.Such high frequencies can be realized by the very compact design of the load frame (increased cross-head, shorter columns with larger diameter, a design with a reinforced base and a connecting member between the upper ends of columns to increase the stiffness). Secondly, the test system has a specially tailored servo valve for to the high frequency technology (Voice-coil valve), which allows the fast response of the test system by using electro-mechanical switching and multi-level control loop. The power spectrum of the high-frequency testing machine is in a static test load of ± 25 kN.
The test system is also equipped with a high frequency induction heating, which in particular is to characterize the isothermal VHCF behavior of heat resistant alloys. |
