Phase Field Modelling
Phase field models have been in the focus of research in
applied mathematics and mechanics in recent years. Due to the
multiple applications in coupled problems, phase transitions,
and fracture the GAMM activity group on Phase field modelling
was installed at the annual GAMM meeting 2013, in Novi Sad,
Serbia. The intention of the activity group is to bring
together expertise from mathematics, mechanics and materials
science, to improve the understanding of phase field
approaches, to analyse the models analytically, and to devellop
improved numerical schemes.
The activity started its actvity in the summer of 2013 with a
kick-off meeting in Frankfurt.
